The Story Behind A-Reece’s Break-Up With Ambitiouz Entertainment And Life After

Superstar South African Rap sensation, songwriter and record producer A-Reece born Lehlogonolo Ronald Mataboge on March 25, 1997 in Pretoria, Gauteng was signed with south African record label Ambitiouz Entertainment in 2015 and rose to fame when he released his hit single “Couldn’t” (2015) featuring Emtee. He then left to establish his co-owned label “THE WRECKING CREW” amidst some controversial circumstances. We bring you the details of the fully blown break-up and life for A-Reece since the divorce.

In February 2017, rap sensation A-Reece released a song produced by co-rebel and current record label mate Mash Beats, titled “Loyal” explaining why he parted ways with Ambitiouz Entertainment. It got the social media platforms abuzz after it dropped. A-Reece, who won the award for Lyricist of the Year at the 2016 South African Hip Hop Awards with his song “loyal” insinuated that Ambitiouz Entertainment artists don’t get to keep their awards after winning them “Where the F do our awards stay at?” He added that he was being payed less than R20 000 at the label. And found it absurd that the publicists are buying cars before the musicians at Ambitiouz. “Getting monthly pay of less than 20k was never part of the plan/ PR buying cars before the artist it doesn’t match up”.

Indeed, nobody would’ve thought that A-Reece was been paid less than 20k, considering how often he gets booked and the amount of talent he possesses it’s quite absurd. As the saying goes “The truth has three parts” so we’ll wait for the representatives of the label to respond. However, there was a tweet which was later deleted where Ambitiouz mentioned that they’ll address A-Reece & Fifi Cooper’s departure in a press release. The record label eventually went on to remove all of A-Reece‘s music videos from their YouTube channel. His Facebook Page Was Also Deleted.
A-Reece was just one of the high profile departures at the time, others included Fifi Cooper, B3nchmarq, Flame and his producer Mash Beats.

The fall out between Ambitiouz Entertainment and the label’s former artists seems to have ensued well into the month of March 2017. It looked like Mabala Noise was about to quench all the dust from the Ambitiouz exodus but A-Reece was keen to remind people that there was still a very big problem at hand at the time through his twitter platform. It all began with reports that Ambitiouz was trying to “gag” both A-Reece and Fifi Cooper following their departures from the label.

However, A-Reece came back and showed that he’s not afraid of anybody or anything and seemed to be quite handy with his rights and armed with lawyers.
